IR Windows Zinc Sulfide (ZnS) Windows


Zinc Sulfide (ZnS) is grown by chemical vapor deposition(CVD) method. It exhibits exceptional fracture strength and hardness leading to its frequent choice for military applications or other harsh environments. It is often used in the range of 3-5um and 8-12um. MultiSpectral grade ZnS(MS) is treated after growth to eliminate microscopic  voids and efects  which  occur  in the regular grade ZnS, thus extending the usefulness of this material to the visible region.
