Dove Prism Usually made of glass material, it has the simple shape of a right-angled triangular prism that allows light to be reflected twice inside it, rotating the picture 180° without changing the left and right shape.In optical systems, it is often used to change the direction of the optical path and adjust the image orientation, and is widely used in optical instruments such as telescopes and microscopes to optimize imaging quality and optical path arrangement.

Dove Prism has two applications.
1. The main application is used as a rotator.
It can rotate an image but without deviating the beam. And when the prism is rotated about the input parallel ray through some angle, the image rotates through twice that angle. It is very important that the application must be used with parallel or collimated beam and the large square reflective surface should be kept very clean.
2. Another application is used as a retroreflector. For this application it perform as a right-angle prism.
